Synopsis
The Jackal is a hidden assassin who makes his living by carrying out contract killings for the highest money
He soon meets a worthy rival in the form of a powerful British scout, who pursues him on an exciting cat-and-mouse chase across Europe. The action of the novel “Day of the Jackal” takes place in 1963 and involves an attempt on the then President of France, Charles de Gaulle.
The show moves the setting to the modern era
Credits Graham Norton and guests: Denzel Washington/Paul Mescal/Saoirse Ronan/Eddie Redmayne/Blossoms (2024). In my opinion, the series is worth watching, especially Eddie Redmayne’s performance as the assassin is excellent.
He is very convincing as a man who really knows how to use weapons, and even in the walls of the action he shows strength, dynamism and quick decision-making skills
He embodies his role in an incredibly versatile way, in one scene he is very natural and loving, like a family man, in another he is completely calculated and cold, and you can completely believe it from his changing facial expressions. On the other hand, the main female role of secret agent Bianca is, unfortunately, in my opinion, a very flat role of a woman who can be defeated and does not act delicately at all.
There are also unnecessary family walls that completely distract from the real plot
She is very ruthless towards her own family and her sources, and she gets much more screen time than the Jackal, which unfortunately often reduces the tension. Her storyline is too broad and her role is too merciless for the show to consider it 100% good.

But I think it’s worth watching because Eddie’s performance is simply outstanding, and the series has an incredibly high aesthetic quality, with beautiful urban and landscape shots and top-notch James Bond-style music. The new season of Silo is the biggest premiere on TV and streaming this month.
