Synopsis
Helen embarks on a passionate romance with a man who has no idea what her secret identity is. Caught in the crosshairs when her lover falls victim to London’s dangerous underworld, Helen’s employer calls in Sam to protect her. There is a scene where the characters discuss their favorite Christmas movies. None of them mention Love, Actually, a very popular Christmas movie.
The dry, dark humor that the Brits do well
Featured in Graham Norton i gosti: Cher/Keira Knightley/Michael Fassbender/Josh Brolin/Jalen Ngonda (2024). I binge-watched this one right after the release and found myself losing interest a few times. It has a touch of Guy Ritchie to it, but it’s not comparable to The Gentlemen f.i. It’s probably important for future viewers that it has a comedic component.
I try to think of what could have made the series better
I think the reason interest is lost is that the plot is chaotic and sometimes hard to follow. Not because it’s a prestigious script, but because they’re presenting the essence of the story in a chaotic, even messy way. You try to follow the thread of the story, but sometimes you wonder what it was exactly. And, in my opinion, there are too many characters cluttering up the plot and the series as a whole.
But that hasn’t hit the mark
And it’s the intrigue that’s not well-written and what could have made it great. Maybe they created chaos on purpose to give it some edge and more comedic value. It’s not bad, but it’s definitely not good either. I wouldn’t opt for a second season.
It’s just too flawed in many ways
