A prequel to the original Dune, it tells how the Sisterhood of Rossak became the Bene Gesserit. The incident with Valya Harkonnen using her voice comes from one of them titled “Mentats of Dune.” All three books intertwine the development of the Sisterhood, the Mentats, the Navigators, and the Suk Doctors. I knew it couldn’t be the same quality as the movies, but I didn’t expect it to be so…
Lacks depth, the conversations are a bit cheesy at times
average. For a second I thought it was an Amazon production and not HBO. Poor casting choices for some of the roles; not because the actors are bad, but they just don’t fit the part.
No real special effects, it seems a bit low budget
Too much happens in the first episode and they jump from one scene to another like they’re in a hurry. Also, some scenes make me wonder why they even bothered filming them. I’m not sure what camera they used, but the shots look too ordinary.
