Synopsis
Kate Wyler, a career diplomat, is thrust into a high-profile position she is ill-suited to in the midst of an international crisis, with tectonic consequences for her marriage and political future. The producers convinced the American and British governments to allow the series to use real-world locations, including the still-recently operating American embassy (at Nine Elms), which opened in 2018. Britain allowed filming to take place in the Foreign Secretary’s office, an honor rarely bestowed upon any film or screen production, especially an American one.
I loved every second of this series
Although it is accurately described as occupying the largest residential area in London (11 acres) outside of Buckingham Palace, the producers used a country house outside the city for filming. ). I watched The Night Agent and thought it couldn’t get much better than this, I was wrong.
It’s so cerebral and fascinating
Everything you could want in a series. The characters and acting were first class. It was great to see the fine Rufus Sewell again and with the role he played, you never knew what would happen to him next.
She played him perfectly
Keri Russell was great as the ambassador. I also loved David Gyasi. Overall a wonderful series, maybe a little short, but worth watching.
The best political show since The West Wing
