Sean Penn gives a great performance
“Dad” is a film that tries to encourage meaningful conversation, which is much needed in this day and age, but it’s extremely disturbing at times. But for all the disturbing moments, many of their conversations are sincere. Dakota Johnson does well in her role as a cab passenger.
Their banter feels like a natural conversation between two complete strangers
Some of the things Penn "Clark" tries to convey is the goal of giving much-needed advice to a woman lost in a relationship that is going nowhere. At times "Girlie" Johnson seems to take this advice and immediately throw it out the window. In the end, they share the bond of two strangers who will probably never meet again, but both will forever hold the memory of their late-night conversations in their hearts #seanpenn #dakotajohnson #daddiomovie #daddio #movies #moviereview #sonypicturesclassics.
