Active Play is a child-led, fun and physically engaging approach to play that helps children build their fundamental movement skills, confidence and enjoyment of being active. Designed to be fun, inclusive and active, Active Play is a straightforward and inexpensive programme to implement. Dynamos is all about fun and provides children with a more social offer, focusing on developing the fundamental skills required to play cricket. For more than a decade, Inspiring Scotland and Active Play delivery partners have worked together to bring the Active Play Programme to quora children across Scotland. It supports children’s emotional, social and cognitive development. Eight city-based teams, created specifically for The Hundred, will compete every summer. It features world-class players and massive names from around the world. The Hundred is an action-packed, unmissable, 100-ball cricket competition that will put you on the edge of your seat.
The Garfield Weston Foundation has awarded us £40k in core funding over two years (25/26 and 26/27). We will work alongside local campaigners, supporting them to successfully challenge threats to local play spaces or services and develop a toolbox for future campaigners in the process. We are very excited that Trust for London has agreed to fund our Communities United for Play project.

Scotland’s Play Charter describes our collective commitment to play for all children and young people. For all enquiries about the Thrive Outdoors fund, please email A pilot in Additional Support for Learning (ASL) settings in Glasgow led the University of Glasgow to produce recommendations to make the programme even more inclusive for children with Additional Support Needs, informing future adaptations and delivery.

The programme has been evaluated by the University of Strathclyde, University of Glasgow, Arrivo Consulting, and FMR Research, with evidence demonstrating improvements in children’s physical literacy, activity levels, and social development. The Active Play Programme is inclusive, fun and of course active! Sessions combine structured games led by an adult, followed by creative free play. Research has shown that children who are physically active are more likely to have a healthier lifestyle and learn better, as they grow older.
Dynamos is aimed at complementing junior cricket so children can do both if they wish! The session finishes with a game of countdown cricket that will take minutes and give everyone a chance to participate in all elements of the game – batting, bowling and fielding. LEGOLAND is designed for families with children aged 2–12, but there’s plenty for adults to enjoy too— from brick-tastic builds to immersive rides like Flight of the Sky Lion and LEGO NINJAGO The Ride. LEGOLAND Windsor is owned and operated by Merlin Entertainments, making the resort part of a family of top UK attractions. Had a brilliant time with 2 day park tickets and an overnight stay in the Woodland Village which was superb.
